On both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, games are the number one most popular and most dominant mobile app type.

In a research done by Gartner.com, they estimate that last year, mobile apps have been downloaded a staggering 81.4 billion times across all app stores. Of those, 73.3 billion are free downloads while 8.1 billion are paid ones. Of those 81.4 billion, PortioResearch.com estimating that 33% of all downloaded mobile apps are games, with 17% of all App Store downloads and 15% of all Google Play downloads being games. This month alone, on the US App Store, 1,337 games, or on average, 134 games a day have been submitted for evaluation and approval.

In 2016, it is estimated that we average at least 100 billion game downloads a year.

And, if you are interested in joining the mobile gaming bandwagon and feel that you would need to invest a lot of money and effort and creating and developing your mobile game, think again.

The past few months, we saw the rise (and “fall”, so to speak) of Flappy Bird, the immensely popular, frustrating but addictive game created by independent game developer Dong Nguyen and published by .GEARS Studios. The app, which is another take on the old helicopter game concept, has been downloaded at least 50 million times, garnered a slew of high reviews on both Apple and Google stores, and has grossed an average of $50,000 in ad revenues every day. And that’s far from money-gaming related apps such Caesar Casino apps at http://www.caesarscasino.com.
