M.I.C.gadget just released photos of the supposed to be back cover of the upcoming iPad 3. The back cover as the say came from “one of their most reliable sources”. From the view of the photo, the iPad 3 is slightly thicker than its predecessor iPad 2. It is supposedly because of its added features like LTE, higher resolution screen and larger battery.

This specification of the iPad 3 is not yet confirmed and there’s still a likelihood that it is a bogus made to generate buzz and to increase web traffic.  But due to M.I.C.gadget’s good track record, it may turn out to be true. Also, the supposed launch of iPad 3 is in the coming weeks so the dimensions of the device might have already reached accessory manufacturers.

Rumored specs of iPad 3 include a quad-core processor, a 2048 x 1536 9.7 inch retina display, LTE support and better camera. There is also a rumor regarding a smaller sized iPad to compete with Samsung’s smaller tablet offerings.

It is said that Foxconn, Apple’s major manufacturing partner, already started production of the iPad 3 in January 2012. The presumed release of the next gen iPad is on March or April of 2012 to coincide with the release of iOS 5.1.
