Comments Off on iPhone 5 coming with multiple versions

iPhone 5 is finally launched and has fulfilled the expectations of many tech experts. The Internet is getting flooded up with the news related to iPhone 5. It has got thinner, lighter and some good features in Camera as well. Along with all these features, one more point to be noted is that, iPhone 5 is coming up with multiple versions.

iPhone 5

Yes, you heard it right. Not only single device like as iPhone 4S, but variants. And yes, don’t be in misunderstanding that I am talking about the variants in terms of storage capacity. I am talking about the variants in term of network connectivity. iPhone 4S came up with all the wireless brands in single device. But iPhone 5 has two distinct models.

The two distinct models of iPhone 5 are A1428 and A1429. he 1428 model is a GSM/UMTS variant with LTE support in bands 4 and 17. The 1429 model supports CDMA with EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B, GSM/UMTS, and LTE support in bands 1, 3, 5, 13, and 25. This one is again a GSM/UMTS variant bur with LTE support in bands 1, 3 and 5.

What Does This Mean ?

So might be confused about this buzz that what this means actually? Well, the meaning of this can be a bad news for many. The multiple versions mean that if you want to switch to different carrier for using LTE technology, then it can be task of pain for you. It does mean that if you want to switch from CDMA network to GSM one, then you will not be able to do so with the same device. You will have to switch to different version of iPhone 5 as well. So if you are a kind of person who gets attracted by the new offers from different carrier and tends to switch to that one frequently, then iPhone 5 is not your cup of tea as it will put a load on your pocket in order to switch between networks.

Make sure to check the the model number of iPhone 5 and to check that whether it is compatible with your carrier or not, before investing money on it.
