Strategy Analytics has just reported that at-least in the final quarter of 2012. Apple surpassed Samsung as the largest mobile phone vendor in the United States, apparently, the Korean giant is still way ahead for the year.apple-samsung

It’ll be the first time Apple has led the top U.S. mobile phone shipments with its 17.7 million against Samsung’s 16.8 million and LG’s 4.7 million from the estimated 52 million total mobile phones shipped in the U.S. alone. Samsung has consistently on top of the market leader since 2008 after dethroning the Cupertino-giant.

Executive Director of the Strategy Analytics, Nei Mawston believed that “Apple’s success has been driven by its popular ecosystem of iPhones and App Store, generous carrier subsidies, and extensive marketing around the new iPhone 5 model.” And that certainly factual as the quarter mostly dominated by the availability of the new iPhone 5.However, the firms also admits that the rumored Galaxy S4 could easily return the favor to Samsung to top again the US’s mobile phone market.

You can consider that Apple’s iPhones are performing really well considering its number versus Samsung’s mobile phones, however you also need to consider how Samsung is battling out versus the tons of high caliber Android devices from LG, Sony and HTC etc.
